He started with his 21-year Grand Prix career with Team Lotus in 1993 before joining Jordan Grand Prix in 1995, where he proved the team’s R&D group before progressing into a senior race engineering role.
Michael's passing is likely to spark a wider reshuffle at the Woking team, as its racing director Eric Boullier takes the adjacent steps in his attempts to get McLaren back into winning form.
