Formula1 driver Fernando Alonso – Goodbye to Ferrari

On Thursday, Ferrari chief Luca de Montezemolo announced that, Fernando Alonso was quitting Ferrai.

Montezemolo formally stepped down as Ferrari's chairman on Monday, after over two decades in the position and he said “He's leaving for two reasons” and also added “One is he wants to test him in another environment, and two because he's at an age where he can't wait much longer if he desires to prevail once more.”

Alonso said “I lost my faith in Ferrari's aptitude to create a winning car”. With three races of the championship remaining, he sits third in the drivers' championship standings.

Only this year has emphatically not been a serious one; it has been the toughest of his Ferrari career. Even though he has consistently outperformed the F14 T, he has managed only two podiums, retired twice and is sixth in the drivers’ championship.

Montezelomo stated "It hurt him that he didn't pull ahead this year and he needs new motivation."

“Apparently I wasn't much pleased with the way it has fallen out, but that's life and it's fair that the proprietors of a private company can arrive at decisions, and now it's the start of a new, different phase,” said by Montezelomo.

Fernando contract with Ferrari was set to go at the end of 2016, meaning he would allow two years short of its termination.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel announced last week he was leaving Red Bull. Vettle is set to replace Alonso.
